Pat has been associated with the Lions for over twenty years. Her husband was the club’s Liontamer until his death. She likes to think her fellow Lions are all her “cubs”, and will sort them out when necessary.
Pat worked at Rother Valley College for twenty one years and since retiring has been involved with Samaritans Purse (Shoebox) and Townswomens Guild – a very busy lady, indeed.
In any spare time she likes to read or go to Antique Fayres.
I made the decision to change my career as times had changed. For the last 20 years plus I have worked in IT. My company is bases in the Wesley Centre in Maltby supplying IT equipment locally and nationally. I was asked by a good friend over 11 years ago if I would be interested in helping out at times with Maltby Rother Valley Lions. It was not long before I was drawn in; working with a great bunch of people, I decided to join the club. My wife Diane joined with me and we have never looked back.
We have been involved in some great projects bringing help to the people who are in need. Being a member of Maltby Rother Valley Lions is unpaid but very rewarding. Working with some incredible people all with hearts of gold. With working long hours I have never had time for hobbies but recently over the last four months Diane and myself have started dancing lessons. We go to Drapers Dancing School at Sheffield. Having two left feet and no natural rhythm does not help. It has taken time and a lot of effort and black toes for Diane. We are getting there slowly, having fun along the way.
