1st class honours for Dinnington student, Naomi Hall

1st class honours for Dinnington student, Naomi Hall

Congratulations and very well done to Naomi Hall who has achieved a BSc in Medical Science with 1st class honours at Sheffield University and is now planning to do a Masters degree. Maltby Rother Valley Lions presented Naomi with our Student of the Year Award in 2017 at Rother Valley College in Dinnington and we are happy to have received her recent message:

“I really appreciate the money I received which helped me to buy books which were especially helpful during lockdown when I sometimes couldn’t access library services. This is an example of what your charity contributes to the society. It was a massive help, thank you”.

Our Club wishes Naomi the best of luck for the future.

MRVL are proud to support Academies in the Rother Valley area with our Student of the Year Awards, helping students to go forward with further education.

Quinn is delighted that he can now return to school

This is Quinn in a wheelchair loaned to him by Maltby Rother Valley Lions. Quinn had an accident and was unable to walk. He didn’t want to miss school and his dad contacted John, our President, to see if we could help. He got a wheelchair to him the same day and Quinn’s lovely smile shows how happy he is.

Enjoy school Quinn and good luck from us all at the Lions

MRVL visit 35th Rotherham, St James Anston Scouts

Lions Lynn and Andrew visited 35th Rotherham, St James Anston Scouts yesterday and met them all in their outside area, doing various tasks whilst still adhering to restrictions. We had a lovely chat with the scouts about what they do and what they are achieving.

The leaders are doing a fantastic job with the scouts and Maltby Rother Valley Lions are happy to support them. After over a year of them not being able to meet, it was wonderful to see. We hope to see you all soon.

Lions Janice and John visited Addison Day Centre yesterday when Luke presented them with a cheque for £500. This was a donation to Maltby Rother Valley Lions as a thank you for our help and support in the past. The Centre is closing down and they are donating funds to local charities.

We have been happy to support the Centre and would like to say a big thank you to them all for their kind donation which will help us to support other causes in the community.
