Was an honour to be invited to Wales High School this evening to present the Student Of The Year Award which is sponsored by Maltby and Rother Valley Lions. The event was attended by Lion President Joshua Spurr and Lion Member Kathleen Buckingham. We were welcomed with drinks and canapés before the awards ceremony, and was also a pleasure to chat with the Mayor of Rotherham, The headteacher and deputy head of Wales High school, the high sheriff and councillors for Kiveton council.

5th Rotherham Maltby Scouts

Earlier this year President Joshua Spurr and Vice President Lynn Reaney visited the 5th Rotherham Maltby Scouts and were happy to support them on their trip to Poacher 22 International Scout & Guide Jamboree, they have now arrived and will enjoy a fun filled week of activities. Here are a few pictures from the opening ceremony and It is great to see them carrying the Maltby Rother Valley Lions flag and we hope they all have a fabulous time.

President Joshua Spurr presented Alexander Clarke, pictured here with Headmaster Pepe Di’lasio, with our Student of the Year Award at Wales High School. Maltby and Rother Valley Lions are proud to sponsor this award and congratulate this achievement. We wish Alexander the best of luck for the future and hope that this award helps with future studies.

MRVL visit 35th Rotherham, St James Anston Scouts

Lions Lynn and Andrew visited 35th Rotherham, St James Anston Scouts yesterday and met them all in their outside area, doing various tasks whilst still adhering to restrictions. We had a lovely chat with the scouts about what they do and what they are achieving.

The leaders are doing a fantastic job with the scouts and Maltby Rother Valley Lions are happy to support them. After over a year of them not being able to meet, it was wonderful to see. We hope to see you all soon.

Maltby Lions make a donation to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice

Harry Finlayson had no idea what the Maltby and Rother Valley Lions Club got up to, until he enjoyed sitting in with them at one of their regular meetings.

“I never new what these people do for our local community until i was privileged to sit with them in their meeting, they put so much time & effort into helping others, big thank you to you all ??” said Harry.

Some of the members of Maltby and Rother Valley Lions Club presented a cheque for £1,000 to Harry for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Lions Disabled Sports DaySaturday 4th August, Sandall Park Doncaster

We are really looking forward to the Sports Day for disabled people this year at Sandall Park in Doncaster. This annual fun day has come round fast and we hope to see as many of you there as possible for what has been a great event run for many years. It’s FREE entry, all ages are welcome and facilities will be fully accessible. You never know you could be the winner of one of our medals or trophies!
