It was a great day yesterday at Tesco Maltby where we held our Easter bunny raffle. Pictured are the winners of our first, second and third prizes. The little girl who won the first prize has named the bunny Lucy.

Thank you to all who bought raffle tickets and donated to Maltby and Rother Valley Lions, it is much appreciated and helps us enormously with our work in the community. Happy Easter everyone! ???

Scout Daniel fundraises by completing Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

Maltby and Rother Valley Lions Club are happy to donate to Daniel’s fundraiser, raising money for his Scout Group 35th Rotherham, St James, Anston.

He has decided to challenge himself to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge, Pen-y-gent, Whernside and Ingleborough across 24 miles. As Daniel is only 9 years old this is being done in 3 legs, 2 of which he has already completed and the 3rd to be done shortly. Well done Daniel and good luck with your final climb from all at MRVL.

Maltby and Rother Valley Lions Club are happy to support Project Linus Uk, who are a volunteer organisation aiming to provide a sense of security and comfort to sick and traumatised babies in intensive care. Children and teenagers are also supported through the provision of patchwork quilts and knitted blankets. The local volunteer for Project Linus is Ellen Royston. Keep up the good work!

Dawn Bolton organises Lions Charity Casino night to help Rotherham Hospice

Maltby and Rother Valley Lions Club were happy to support Dawn Bolton by donating the Casino night fee back to this fundraiser at Swallownest Miners Welfare Club. Dawn organised the Celebration of Life fundraising event to raise money for Rotherham Hospice, who nursed her husband Jack. Sadly she lost Jack late last year.

Dawn’s event raised a fantastic amount of £2,500.00 for Rotherham Hospice. It is a fantastic cause and was a very enjoyable evening too. Well done Dawn!

Thank you to everyone at MRVL’s who set up and ran the charity casino on 19th Novemeber 2021 at my late husband’s Celebration of Life fundraiser for Rotherham Hospice.

MRVL Santa’s Sleigh raises a total £17,500!

Maltby Rother Valley Lions were busy once again over the Christmas period bringing some much needed Christmas cheer to our local communities. Our two Santa Sleighs travelled the streets of Rother Valley for two weeks right up to Christmas Eve with the help of volunteers old and new.

Thank you from Maltby and Rother Valley Lions ClubThank you to all our collectors, drivers, Santas, to Lee at METS Autocare & Go Perform in Dinnington for the loan of a towing vehicle for the full two weeks and to Maltby and Dinnington Tesco for all your generous donations and for allowing us to collect outside the stores. We could not do this without the help of all you wonderful people and a massive thank you to everyone who so kindly donated to us in so many ways, helping us to raise this fantastic amount.

We also visited local schools with Santa and the Sleigh and thank you to them for the laughter, singing and their donations and running our Advent tree raffles and to all the people and local businesses who also ran our Advent Tree raffles. This wonderful amount will help us to support so many causes and people in need and once again, a heartfelt thank you to you all who helped us to raise £17,500! From all the members of Maltby and Rother Valley Lions Club.
