Maltby and Rother Valley Lions are proud to have supported Joanne with a donation towards her new mobility scooter. Many thanks to Parkgate Mobility for your help and advice with the purchase of the scooter. Pictured with Joanne are Tracy and Maxine from Parkgate Mobility and Lions President, John Rathbone. The smile on Joanne’s face says it all. Another way in which MRVL have been able to help someone become more independent and enrich their life. Enjoy your new scooter Joanne!

Maltby Rother Valley Lions are proud to support Street Friends

Maltby Rother Valley Lions are proud to support Street Friends who are based at Dinnington Resource Centre. Lynn presented a cheque today to Jane Ann Havenhand Mbe to help the group which has been set up to help homeless people living on the street.

They supply them with clothes, coats, hats, scarves, gloves, sleeping bags, blankets, food (rice, pasta, tinned veg, coffee & hot chocolate mixed cups) etc. and rely heavily on donations. If you can help with donations please see their Facebook page or contact the Centre. Well done all, great work!

2020 Christmas donations raise £18,700 for MRVL

Maltby Rother Valley Lions were very busy over the Christmas period bringing some much needed Christmas cheer to our local communities. Our two sleighs travelled the streets with Santa for two weeks before Christmas which was made possible with the help of our wonderful team of helpers, old and new, who turn out whatever the weather. We could not do this without you.

It was very different this year with Covid restrictions, not stopping for photographs and socially distancing and a big thank you to our helpers and to the community for helping us to keep to these rules. Also thank you to our local MP Alexander Stafford, who contacted RMBC on our behalf and supported us on our Sleigh runs and Static sleighs and also to PRS/ PPL who supplied our music licence.

Santa and his helpers also visited numerous local schools where the children were brought out in their bubbles, all socially distanced, to ask him questions and chat with lots of wonderful laughter and singing too!

Thank you from Maltby and Rother Valley Lions Club

In addition thankyou to all the local schools and businesses who raffled our Advent trees and made donations. Our club has been overwhelmed by the generosity of the people of Maltby and Rother Valley in these difficult times, helping us to raise this magnificent amount of money and enabling us to help many causes and those in need in our communities. We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to you all.

MRVL are proud to support Swallownest Bowling Club by helping towards the purchase of junior bowls equipment.

The club were due to hold a bowling event this year involving two local schools which they will now be looking at holding next year. They are also hoping to provide some coaching for the youngsters. We hope to visit the club and see the junior bowlers when it is possible. The club welcomes people of all ages and abilities and is an active part of the local community.
