Santa’s Christmas Sleigh bell’s will be jingling in 2020!

Our members and helpers have been working very hard for the past few months renovating our two sleighs, in the hope that we will be able to take them out and spread some Christmas joy in the community after an awful year.

After first thinking that we would not be able to take them out at all due to Covid restrictions, we are now so happy that we have permission to take them out and about in the run up to Christmas. Details of our sleigh runs will shortly be published on our Facebook page.

On Saturday 5th December we will be outside Tesco in Maltby with Santa, the Sleigh and his helpers from 9.30am to 1.00pm. This will all be subject to strict Covid regulations, practicing social distancing at all times. Unfortunately, the sleighs will not be making our usual stops for photos on our evening runs.

Maltby and Rother Valley Lions Club are looking forward to seeing you all ho ho ho!!

MRVL are proud to support Swallownest Bowling Club by helping towards the purchase of junior bowls equipment.

The club were due to hold a bowling event this year involving two local schools which they will now be looking at holding next year. They are also hoping to provide some coaching for the youngsters. We hope to visit the club and see the junior bowlers when it is possible. The club welcomes people of all ages and abilities and is an active part of the local community.

Pie n peas and some more great fundraising

Well we celebrated some brave sky divers tonight at our Lions Pie n pea night, alongside a raffle and a quiz.

Lewis completed a sky dive in memory of his father, our late President David Parker, raising a whopping £900 for the Lions.

Also with us was Rebecca Blackwell who raised a fantastic £700 for Help for Heroes in memory of her grandfather Allan Thompson. Well done to the both of them!

It was a fun filled night for us all and an opportunity for our second mascot Dave the Lion to make his first outing! Dave has been made in memory of our late President David Parker and will be joining Alfie on his adventures.

Christmas Sleigh Runs 2019 grand total revealed

Thank you from Maltby and Rother Valley Lions ClubAll of us would like to say a huge thank you to all our supporters during Christmas Sleigh Runs 2019. We raised a massive £16,879!!! This would not have been possible without the extremely generous support of all of our donors.
This amazing amount will enable us to support so many good causes in our local community. We also could not do this without the support of our wonderful volunteer collectors, drivers, raffle helpers and of course our Santa’s!

Happy New Year one and all and let’s see how we can put these funds to good use this coming year.
