Maltby and Rother Valley Lions helping Santa at Tesco Dinnington 2021

MRVL’s and friends a great day at Tesco Dinnington with lots of visitors. Dave Parker’s grandson came to see the plaque on the Sleigh for our past President and friend, Dave Parker who we all miss very much, he was a big part of our Club.

Santas helpers from Rotherham Council, Charlotte from Aston Academy who was awarded our Student of the year award in 2019 and Alexander Stafford MP and his family all paid us a visit along with lots of generous people who donated to us to enable us to help with good causes, thank you all???

Watch out around your way for Santa’s sleigh, it’s on it’s way! See the Santa’s Sleigh Run Schedule for more info.

Don’t forget that we always need help from members of the local community. Could you become a local Lion? Would you like to be part of a very special group of people who put back into their local community? Plus have lots and lots of fun in the process!

If the answer is yes then what are you waiting for? We meet every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month – please call us on 07585 657563 or message us.

Maltby and Rother Valley Lions Club was formed in 1978. Our members come from all walks of life sharing a common goal to help and support others in the community who are less fortunate than ourselves and support various projects and local groups including junior football teams, schools, nurseries, care homes and our annual Lions Fun and Sports day for the disabled.

We raise money throughout the year with our Casino for parties and special events, our Tombola stall and raffles etc. You will see us around the local streets with Santa and his sleigh and outside various local shops with our static sleighs, for two weeks before Christmas, raising money to go back into the local community. We have a committed band of members and volunteer helpers who give up their time, year after year for free come rain, hail, wind and snow.

Why not join us as a member or volunteer helper, raising money for worthwhile causes whilst having fun and sometimes shedding a tear or two!

Thank you to all our sponsors and everyone who donates to us, it is very much appreciated.

If you require any further information please call: Lion Lynn on 07504 326336.

How Maltby Rother Valley Lions are bringing a little Christmas joy to our communities

2020 has been a very challenging year for us all, but that doesn’t stop the well needed Lion’s charity work.

Our two sleighs are running, but not stopping this year for photos and everyone is helping by keeping to social distancing rules.

We are visiting schools where classes are being brought out into the playground in their bubbles at a safe distance and we are standing outside supermarkets again with safe distancing.

The lovely lady in the picture is 95 years old and she is watching Santa live on FaceTime.

A few ways in which we can bring the Christmas spirit to the community safely in these uncertain times.
