Annual Santa Sleigh Runs by Maltby and Rother Valley Lions

The festive season is here, and we’re excited to announce that Maltby and Rother Valley Lions will be embarking on a magical journey through the streets of Rother Valley, accompanied by none other than Santa Claus himself. As we spread holiday cheer, we kindly ask for your support in our charitable efforts. Your generous donations make a significant impact, so any contribution, big or small, is greatly appreciated.

This year, we’re making it even more convenient to support our cause. In addition to traditional cash donations, we’re pleased to accept card donations during our Santa Sleigh Runs. For those who prefer online giving, you can donate securely anytime, all year round, via our website at www.maltbylions.org.uk.

Please be aware that to ensure the smooth flow of our sleigh runs, we won’t be making impromptu stops for photos with Santa. However, don’t worry! You’ll have fantastic photo opportunities at the start of each evening, as listed in our schedules.

Let’s make this holiday season extra special for everyone in Rother Valley. Join us in spreading joy and goodwill, and together, we can make a positive impact on our community.

Lions Update for Christmas Sleighs with Santa 2020

We have had a few enquiries asking if our Christmas Sleighs, with Santa around the streets, and usual visits will be going ahead this year?

The current situation is that we are in the process of renovating both the North and South side sleighs in the hope that we will be able to bring Christmas cheer to the community in some way. However, we have to be guided by covid restrictions in conjunction with Rotherham Council and we will keep you updated. Not only does Santa and the Sleigh bring the Christmas spirit and happiness to so many people (which we could all do with at the moment) it is our biggest fundraiser of the year enabling us to carry on our work helping people in the community and sponsoring local groups and individuals.

This week alone we have helped two families experiencing difficulties and made a difference to their lives. We have helped throughout lockdown via groups, individuals and food banks, but without fundraising at Christmas and throughout the year, which so far we have been unable to do, this will become difficult. Should you wish to donate to us you can do so at Virgin Money Giving to help us to carry on our work in the community in these testing times.

Stay safe everyone, Lynn Reaney, on behalf of MRVL.

Christmas Sleigh Runs 2019 grand total revealed

Thank you from Maltby and Rother Valley Lions ClubAll of us would like to say a huge thank you to all our supporters during Christmas Sleigh Runs 2019. We raised a massive £16,879!!! This would not have been possible without the extremely generous support of all of our donors.
This amazing amount will enable us to support so many good causes in our local community. We also could not do this without the support of our wonderful volunteer collectors, drivers, raffle helpers and of course our Santa’s!

Happy New Year one and all and let’s see how we can put these funds to good use this coming year.

Santa and his team are keeping very busy!

Santa and his team of volunteer helpers from Maltby and Rother Valley Lions Club are still keeping very busy indeed, as they make the sleigh runs throughout the North and South sides of Maltby and the Rother Valley. We thought we would just take this opportunity to share a few of the photos with you.
