The 20 Twenty Challenge

In early April, one of our members saw a Facebook post ” Minibus Needed” this plea for help start a chain of events that has led to Maltby Rother Valley Lions involvement in the 20twentychallenge to change 20 lives in 20 days.
The challenge, an unaided wheelchair push from Lands End to John O’Groats by two guys Shaun Gash a T5 paraplegic from Manchester and Gavin Levitt from Maltby who is a fitness coach at Bannatynes in Bramley.
The challenge starts on the 9th of August and finishes on the 27th August the current Guinness World Record for an unaided wheelchair push is 29 Days, Shaun and Gavin will complete the challenge in 19 Days!!!!!!
Maltby Rother Valley Lions have managed to secure from local companies the donation of a Minibus for the duration of the challenge from Ballycommon and a Large Trailer from DB Entertainment.
Two of our Lions have volunteered to drive the support vehicles for the duration of the challenge and an additional 6 members and Lions friends are travelling up to John O’Groats at the end of the challenge to bring the two support vehicles, trailer and participants back home.
The PUSH is on now to raise as much money as we can to change lives and to that end our nominee for the challenge is Taylor Oates, a 3 year old local girl who has an acute form of Cerebral Palsy and associated medical conditions, please see her Facebook page “Taylor Made it to America “.
