It’s that time again, when our annual Christmas Carol Concert is in sight. Last year it was an absolute success and was enjoyed by everybody that attended. As ever, Anston Male Voice Choir gave a fantastic performance and brought us all into the start of the Christmas festivities.

Lots of lovely raffle prizes were donated for our senior citizens by local businesses too.

New President Dave, Maltby and Rother Valley Lions ClubJohn Rathbone has now handed over the Presidents chain of office to our new President, Dave Parker. Maltby and Rother Valley Lions wish Dave the best of luck in his new role and also Gerry Haywood as Vice President – you can be sure of the support of all the club.

John Rathbone has been the President of MRVL for the last 7 years. His hard work, leadership and commitment to the club has been outstanding and all the members would like to say a big thank you to him for the great job he has done. “Going the extra mile” is a normal occurrence for John and we are sure his good work will continue within the club. We have a club where we have a great time whilst raising money for good causes – John has played a large part in achieving this. Keep up the good work John!

Join Anston Male Voice Choir with Special Guests Sinopia for what promises to be a very special night of song. The event will be held at 7pm on Saturday 8th September at the Crossing Church & Centre, Newcastle Street, Worksop. Anston Male Voice Choir are a great group of men who have a great deal of fun singing a variety of songs, performing concerts locally and further afield on occasions. Their objective is to bring pleasure to both themselves and others whilst giving a helping hand to a number of charities. Come along and help to support them.

Disabled Sports Day 2017

Over the years neighbouring Lions Clubs have worked together to make this into one of the main events of our year attracting competitors from a wide area. The rules are simple: whether it be a group from one specific organisation or individual families, everyone is welcome to take part. The only stipulation is that anyone competing must have either a mental or physical impairment, however carers, family and friends are also welcome to come along and enjoy the day with them. Every competitor gets a medal to take home and there is a trophy for the winner of each game. Maltby and Rother Valley Lions are proud to provide the catering for this event.
